M.H. Jayaprakash Narayan founded the Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DAIT), Bengaluru, in 1980. The Institute is connected with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and is recognized and certified by the AICTE and NBA. It is named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The NAAC has given the Institution an 'A' grade. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the Institution ranks 163. (NIRF). The Institute provides graduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs in all fields. Academic autonomy was granted by the University Grants Commission in New Delhi in 2010, allowing the Institution to design its curriculum, exams, and degree issuing procedures.

The Panchajanya Vidya Peetha Welfare Trust (PVPWT) oversees Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DAIT), one of the Trust's 22 educational institutes. The late Sri M.H. Jayaprakash Narayan worked tirelessly for advancement in the early phases. The story is being carried on by the PVPWT, which is made up of brilliant technocrats, engineers, educators, and philanthropists. The Institution employs 532 staff, including 256 faculty, 137 technical employees, and 140 administrative personnel. Every year, the number of people involved in R&D, consulting, and industry-institute collaboration increases.
