Established in 2013, TAFE Queensland Gold Coast was originated from the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE. This institute is Queensland’s largest training provider that delivers practical and industry-relevant training facilities. The institution was combined with five other regional registered training organisations of Queensland to form a single establishment. In the Gold Coast region, the institute offers training facilities at its five vibrant campuses including Ashmore, Coolangatta, Coomera, Southport and Coomera Marine. The institute provides entry-level certificates, degrees and advanced diplomas at over 50 locations in the state. The institute offers training facilities to more than 1,20,000 students every year.

At Gold Coast, the institute offers a range of study areas allowing students to explore unique fields. The study areas include animal care, building and construction, automotive, general education, electrotechnology, business, digital screen and media, information technology, sports and fitness, horticulture, engineering, child care, floristry, graphic design, hospitality and cookery, photography, hairdressing and beauty, community services, music, retail, nursing and health, and tourism and events.

The institute comes with a well-equipped library that gives access to physical library services as well as an extensive range of digital resources. It provides both online and on-campus facilities to students to access information and borrow resources from across all libraries of the institutes. It also offers a number of student support facilities including disability, counselling, and learning support services. Moreover, it also offers dedicated support services to international students coming to the institute to pursue different courses. The institute has successfully awarded around seven million qualifications and more than 135 years of training. This makes it one of the largest graduate networks in the country
