Students from other countries i.e international students must have 3 to 4 years bachelor’s degree to get into the MD program. Unlike in India, it is not MBBS it is considered as MD(Doctor of Medicine). Indian students must also appear for MCAT and NEET to be eligible for admission to medical universities in Canada.
c. In Canada out of 17 medical universities, only six colleges offer MD admission to international students. After the conclusion of the MBBS in Canada which is equal to MD, international students must appear for the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) exam to enter the residency program.
Students are also obliged to appear for the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part 1 and 2. After passing these exams, international bachelors from Canadian colleges can practice medicine in Canada. International students must remember that MD in Canada is very limited.
