MBBS in Canada is offered as a 3 to 4 year full-time MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree. Although it is regarded as an undergraduate program, international students are required to have 3 to 4 bachelor’s degrees to get entry into the MD program. In Canada out of 17 medical universities, only six colleges offer MD admission to international students. After the conclusion of the MBBS in Canada which is equal to MD, international students must appear for the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) exam to enter the residency program.
Students are also obliged to appear for the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part 1 and 2. After passing these exams, international bachelors from Canadian colleges can practice medicine in Canada. International students must remember that MD in Canada is very limited. Most universities give preference to students having sponsorship from a country or agency that collaborated with them. Indian students having MBBS degree from Canadian medical colleges don’t have to attend MCI screening test to practise medicine in India.
Academic and Course structure:
There are 3 stages in the whole academic course

Residency: Medical residency in Canada is a 3 to 5 years training program. After completion, you get the speciality certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada (RCPSC) or a family physician certificate from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
