Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)in 2022-2023
TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language, which a high stakes exam in testing a candidate’s English language skill in four areas – Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
The Educational Testing Services (aka ETS) conducts this exam. About 11, 000 universities and institutions across 150 countries consider the TOEFL score for admissions.
The universities in the countries such as the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe and others widely accept the test scores for academic, work and immigration purposes.

TOEFL Exam Eligibility:
There is no particular age or educational restrictions for taking this English proficiency test. Candidates sitting for this exam have to check the university/college requirements for admissions into their programs.
The only thing is the English-speaking countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, etc. consider this test score from those non-native speakers of the English language. Besides, there’s no age restriction set by the ETS, the exam conducting body.
TOEFL Exam Registration:
The TOEFL exam registration can be done year-round depending on when you want to take this exam. There’re different modes of registrations:
- Online
- Phone
- In-person registration at the TOEFL test centres
Online Registration:
Login to the ETS official site. Enter your details such as name, email, etc. matching the information with that of your passport. Finally, pay your fees.
The registration closes before 7 days of your TOEFL test commencement.
TOEFL Exam Fees:
The test fees will subject to change without prior notice.
You can re-take the test as many times as possible with a 3-day interval. For late registration, cancellation, or rescheduling fee, check this table here below.
In case you want to reschedule your exam, you have to pay the US $ 60. And you can only reschedule it by phone or by your ETS account. You can’t reschedule it by email, mail or at the test centres.
If you cancel your TOEFL, you have to do it before 4 full days your exam. Then you will be refunded 50% of the exam fee. Otherwise, you will get anything back from the fees you’ve paid.

After the first two modules, there will be a break for about 10 minutes.
TOEFL Exam Scores:
TOEFL tests scores are accepted across 130 countries in 10000 colleges, schools or universities. The score is valid for two years. Look the table for a sectional score of the TOEFL test.

After 10 days of sitting for the exam, the candidate will be notified about the test results. The candidate can see the score online at the ETS site. And after 13 days of the test date, the candidate can get a printed copy of their results.

A: You can correct any information through online account except your Name, Gender and Date of Birth. For these three items, you have to contact TOEFL services for modification through their email or phone.

A: You can retake the test with the minimum interval time of 3 days. With that requirement, you can take the test as many times as possible.
