MNLU Aurangabad Overview

The Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) is situated in Mumbai. Established on 20 March 2014, Maharashtra National Law University is considered as the premier law university of the nation. The institution offers a five-year integrated programme of B.A. L.LB. (Hons.) and one year programme of LLM in commercial and corporate law. Since its commencement from 2015, the university has made sincere and serious efforts to excel in the field of research and legal education. The primary goal of the college is to impart proper legal knowledge and education to the law aspirants of the country. It also promotes society oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of the societal life of people in the country. MNLU aims at equipping students with skills of legal service, advocacy, law reforms and makes them utilise these tools for social development and social transformation. The first academic endeavour began on 1 August 2015. The course structure of the university is framed in accordance with the UGC and the BCI with a team of dedicated and hardworking teachers. Hon’ble Mr. Justice S.A. Bobade, Judge Supreme Court of India is the University Chancellor who not only inspires but also guides the university with his rich experience and novel ideas.

In recent years, MNLU has established few research centres which marks its long strides in the area of research. MNLU believes in the values embedded in the constitution of India viz. Equality, Justice, Liberty, Humanism, Secularism etc. and makes all efforts to imparts these values amongst the staff and students. It tries to make the university as not only the hub of legal education but also the centre of humanity.

MNLU Application Process 2020

The application process for MNLU is not held separately. The candidates have to apply for the CLAT exam and rank the different NLU colleges as per their priority. Given below are the steps through which you can apply for MNLU.

  • Candidates must visit the official website of the Consortium of NLUs.

  • After applying for CLAT, the candidates must fill the application form by entering all the important academic and personal details.

  • The candidates are required to upload scanned copies of the important documents while filling the form.

  • After successfully filling all the details on the application form, the candidates will have to select various NLUs and rank them as per their preference.

  • Candidates are advised to fill the preferences carefully as they are considered seriously during the selection process.

  • After the CLAT result is declared, the admission is given to students as per their score and the preference marked by the candidate.

MNLU BA LLB (Hons) Eligibility Criteria 2020

Candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria of BA LLB (Hons) at MNLU in order to apply for admission to the university. If the candidate fails to fulfil the criteria, the application form of the candidate will be considered invalid. Listed below are all the eligibility criteria for BA LLB at MNLU that a student needs to go through.

  • The student must have completed his/her class 12 or higher secondary education from a recognised central (CBSE or ISC) or state board of education.

  • The candidate is required to have an aggregate of 45% marks in class 12. 5% relaxation is provided to the reserved category candidates. They are required to have scored 40% aggregated marks in the class 12th board exams.

  • All students who wish to apply for the admission must have appeared for the CLAT exam. Without it, the candidate will not be considered for admission to the undergraduate course.

MNLU BA LLB (Hons) Selection Process 2020

In order to get selected for BA L.LB(Hons.) at MNLU, the CLAT score is taken into consideration. The candidates are selected as per the ranks they have managed to score. Also, as per the rank at which they have selected MNLU, they are offered admission for BA L.LB(Hons.) in the college.

MNLU LLM Eligibility Criteria 2020

In order to get admission to the course of LLM at MNLU, the candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria set up by the university. Each university has its set of criteria that need to be met in order to get enrolled in the respective programmes. MNLU eligibility criteria for LLM are mentioned below.

  • The student must have completed his/her class 12 from any recognised board of education.

  • The candidates are required to have qualified LLB or the five years integrated LLB from any institution that is approved by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and the BCI (Bar Council of India).

  • The aggregate percentage scored by the candidate in the qualifying examination should not be less than 55%.

  • The reserved category (SC/ST) candidates get 5% relaxation. They can apply for LLM from MNLU with 50% aggregate marks.

MNLU LLM Selection Process 2020

The candidates are offered admission into LLM course at MNLU through their CLAT score. A merit list is made keeping in mind the CLAT score. The preferences marked by the student during the application process is also considered while shortlisting any candidate for admission at MNLU.

MNLU Ph.D Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates are required to match the minimum eligibility criteria before opting for a Ph.D from MNLU. If the candidate does not fulfil the criteria, he/she is not considered for admission at MNLU. Listed below are the minimum eligibility requirements that need to be met in order to get admission to Ph.D from MNLU.

  • The candidate must be in possession of a masters degree or a post-graduate degree in a relevant field.

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum of 55% of marks in the postgraduate course in order to take admission in PhD course from MNLU

  • The reserved category candidates (SC/ST) are given relaxation of 5%. They can apply for the course with 50% of aggregate marks.

  • The candidate must have appeared for CLAT exam and must have qualified it.

MNLU Ph.D Selection Process 2020

The candidates will be allowed admission in the university on the basis of an admission test which is followed by a personal interview round. Candidates who have passed the test like NET and SLET need not appear for the admission test. They will be directly eligible for the personal interview round. A merit list will be announced on the basis of the admission test and the personal interview round.
