St.Thomas College, Kozhencherry was established in 1953, under the untiring visionary initiative of Very Rev. K.T. Thomas Kaseesa, ably supported by the then Metropolitan Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma, the community in Kozhencherry, the parish here, and of course Marthomites from different parts of Kerala. Set atop a hill, with an expansive view of the southwestern valleys, in a serene village, with the green panoramic Sahyadri in the east, close to the cool lush river Pamba, near the famous Maramon sandbank, beneath the green shades of Badam trees, the college provides a sublime and conducive natural ambiance for attaining academic eminence.

The main aim of this institution is to impart sound Christian liberal education to young men and women. The college aims at producing intellectually well-trained, morally upright, socially committed, and spiritually inspired young men and women. The college has, in its 60 years of functioning, expanded its services to accommodate students hailing from the remote regions of the eastern part of Pathanamthitta District. Various courses of studies augmenting the creative and productive faculties of the younger generation were introduced from time to time.

The college was once the hub of volleyball players and fans. The college became champions at the intercollegiate and university levels.
